Menopause and Soy

A lot of research is being done on the use of soy to ameliorate the symptoms of menopause, particularly HOT FLASHES. Japanese women who ordinarily eat soy products as part of their diet have fewer hot flashes than women in Europe or North America. Soy is a unique source of isoflavones which have a similar chemical structure to estrogen. Isoflavones often do share some commonalities with estrogen but also act in opposite ways.

Fitness

Before you start a new exercise regimen check with your doctor. If you haven’t exercised in years, there’s nothing as good as a nice walk. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and swing those arms ! Breathe deeply and enjoy the day.

There was this man who wanted to exercise, but he just couldn’t quite manage to start. He began by changing into workout clothes when he got home from work.  He did not walk or exercise, he simply changed into the outfit. After several weeks of doing this, he did finally get down to business and was successful.

Healthy Lifestyle

Love yourself. I think that is the most important part of a healthy lifestyle. Can you truely love anyone else if  you do not love yourself? So, forgive yourself. Be kind to yourself, and yes, love yourself and the rest will logically follow.

Fruity recipe: Banana “Pancake”

1 very ripe banana – mash well in a soup dish (has flat bottom will work best)

1 egg

1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

1- 1 1/2  tsp vanillia flavoring

Beat egg and all ingrediants well with fork

Spray  small non stick frying pan with cooking spray.  Pour mixture into frying pan, cook over medium heat.

Turn once.  Yield 1 serving  I have been making this for breakfast for over 30 years.
